After a productive morning of doing absolutely nothing but listening to podcasts and taking silly internet quizzes, I was hungry. Since I was in Middleburg Heights, I decided to check out Mediterranean Market, a family-owned grocery store in the area.
In addition to selling groceries, Mediterranean Market sells made-to-order wraps. I was tempted to get the chicken shawarma wrap, but I ordered the falafel wrap because I felt like I’d already eaten too much meat for the week.
When I got my falafel wrap, I was pleasantly surprised. Though it only cost 5 bucks, the wrap was big.
And when I took a bite of my wrap, I was even more surprised that it only cost 5 bucks.
The wrap was delicious. I’ve had mixed experiences with falafel, often finding it too dry and bland. But that was not the case with Mediterranean Market’s wrap. The falafel was flavorful and moist. It was also covered in tahini sauce, which made it even better. My wrap also contained lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pickled turnips, and parsley, all of which were fresh and complemented the falafel nicely.
I've thought about going vegetarian a couple of times, but most of the time, when I have vegetarian meals, I feel like something is missing (i.e., meat), and I'm not left completely satisfied.
That was not the case with Mediterranean Market's falafel wrap. It gave me plenty of flavor and left me satisfied, and I did not at all regret not getting the chicken shawarma wrap instead. If all vegetarian meals were this delicious, I think a lot more people would be vegetarians.
However, I still don't think I'm going to become vegetarian anytime soon. I just love meat too much. That being said, if I keep finding yummy vegetarian meals like this falafel wrap, eating less meat will definitely be easier for me.
Mediterranean Market is located at 7553 Pearl Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130.
