I'm a sucker for a pun. So when I came across Stick to Your Buns Bakery in Westlake, Ohio, I had to go in and check out their baked goods.

Their display was filled with tempting treats. If I had unlimited funds and no regard for my cavity-prone teeth, I would have requested one of everything. But because I'm a perpetually broke struggling writer and sort of trying to be healthy, I limited myself to getting two things: a slice of the Pistachio Pleasure cake and one piece of baklava.

Of course, if I were truly being healthy, I wouldn't have walked into the bakery at all, but how could I resist a cute little bakery with a punny name?

I had the Pistachio Pleasure and baklava for breakfast.

If you're wondering how much progress I've made toward my goal of losing weight, I've made pretty much zero.

But as Prue from GBBO would say, the Pistachio Pleasure and baklava were so worth the calories!

The Pistachio Pleasure lived up to its name. The layer of sponge cake was soft and moist, and the layers of pistachio mousse and ricotta cheese were smooth and creamy. On the side of the cake were pistachio bits, which provided some nice crunch. Overall, the dessert was just the right amount of sweetness and yummy.

The baklava was also fantastic. The bottom layers of the flaky filo pastry were soaked in honey, which added a wonderful sweet moisture to the dessert. I devoured my piece of baklava in a matter of moments.

Eating cake and baklava wasn't exactly the healthiest way to begin my morning, but it was wonderfully indulgent and made me start the day with a smile on my face.
