This morning Governor Polis announced that starting on April 2, 2021 all Coloradans ages 16 and over will be eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. The scheduled arrival of more than 400,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Colorado this week makes this possible.
While now all adults are currently eligible to receive the vaccine, it may take several weeks for everyone who wants it to get their shot. The governor estimates that by mid to late May every Colorado resident who wants the vaccine will have been able to receive it.
A message that was repeatedly stressed in the live press conference is that while this is great news, everyone still needs to continue to take precautions. Wear a mask. Social distance. It is still a race against time. Don't let your guard down in this home stretch. This is especially important in mountain communities which have been experience a high number of visitors for spring break.
To date, 1.6 million people in Colorado have received their first shot. 999,618 Coloradans are fully vaccinated. The total population of Colorado is 5.7 million, including children. Children 12 and older may become eligible this summer or fall. While it will be later for children 11 and under.

Eagle County Vaccine Registration
Subsequently Eagle County Public Health & Environment announced that they are accepting pre-registration from all community members who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Eagle County encompasses the resort areas of Vail and Beaver Creek, as well as several communities to the west.
The registration form is available at www.eaglecountycovid.org. There is no cost for the vaccination. Coloradans in higher priority groups will still be given priority over the general public.
“We want to remind everyone that all three currently available vaccines are highly effective at preventing severe disease and death. If you get selected for the vaccine don’t wait, the best vaccine is the one you can get now,” said ECPHE Director Heath Harmon.
Once registered, no further action is required. Vaccine supply is still limited, so if the number of sign-ups exceeds the available amount of vaccine doses, appointments will be issued based on a random drawing among those who are eligible. Those who are selected to receive a vaccination will be contacted using text messaging or the email address they provided to schedule an appointment.
In addition, those receiving the vaccine will be asked to attest they will be available for both doses if needed. Appointments are required; anyone who shows up at a clinic without an appointment will not receive a vaccine.
