LYNCHBURG, Va. — Different variants of COVID-19 are emerging and one of them has been confirmed in Central Virginia.
There are 18 cases of the Delta variant in Central Virginia -- nearly half of the state's 41 cases, according to the Virginia Dept. of Health. The Delta variant is very easily spread from person to person.
Dr. Brandy Darby with the VHD says every time a new virus emerges, they mutate over time.
