What kind of potatoes should I use?

Whenever I make Seasoned Sesame Golden Butter Potatoes, I use Yukon Gold potatoes because of their flavor and texture. They tend to be smoother in texture and have a buttery flavor which pairs incredible with all of the seasonings included in this recipe. You can substitute Yukon Golds for any other potatoes if Yukon Golds, or butter potatoes are not available.

How to prepare the potatoes:

Potatoes should be stored at room temperature. To prepare the potatoes for this recipe, rinse the potatoes under cold water, peel the skin, and rinse again. After your potatoes are washed and peeled, slice dice them into about 1" cubes.

Making the seasoning mix:

All you have to do to prepare the seasoning mix for these Seasoned Sesame Golden Butter Potatoes is to simply mix them all in a small bowl. Mix well so that everything in combined evenly.

Combine prepared potatoes and seasoning:

Add about 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil to your potatoes and mix well until all of your diced potatoes are coated well in oil. This will help the seasoning stick to the potatoes.

Baking the Seasoned Sesame Golden Butter Potatoes:

After your oven had been preheated at 420F, add a single layer of potatoes on a large non stick baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the potatoes 45 minutes to 1 hour or until they are golden brown. For crunchier potatoes, leave then in until desired crunchiness is desired.

Make ahead instructions:

You can make this recipe one day in advance. To do so, clean and cut potatoes then place them in a large bowl and completely cover them in water. Cover with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. You can also make the seasoning ahead of time and store in the refrigerator. The next day, all you would have to do is simply drain water from the potatoes, mix in the oil and seasoning, and bake them.
