Smoked Barn of Peru has opened in Huntington Station, promising authentic barbecue and the disparate flavors of Peruvian cuisine.
The menu offers a wide variety of choices, including Papa Rellena, a dish with fried mashed potatoes with beef, onions, eggs and olives; tallarines a la huancaina, a sauce made of white cheese, vegetable oil,yellow Peruvian pepper and other ingredients; yuca a la, an appetizer featurinfng fried yuca with a Peruvian yellow sauce; ceviche mixto, with shrimp and calamari cooked in a lemon sauce; sudado de pescado, a broiled fish dinner with onions, tomatoes, served with yuca and white rice.
The heart of the menu is its briskets, with pulled pork, beef short ribs, and pork ribs, and more.
On Yelp, a reviewer wrote, “We decided to check this place out after a few days of its grand opening. I was not disappointed. We entered with a live singer playing country style music but it was awesome. Not what I expected to listen to but great music. We had the beef short rib to start with tostones wow tasted so good. We then had the chaufa with another piece of beef short rib and sweet potatoes Fries and it was really good. My wife had the sangria and I had the Long Island iced tea nice and strong. For dessert we had the churros with ice cream and enjoyed it very much. Overall the place is very nice the service was great and the outdoor area is going to be a hit in the summer. Thanks to our amazing waiter Roberto. He was very up front with food suggestions and a very nice person. We will see you again very soon.”
