Dowling’s at the Carlyle, located in the luxurious Rosewood Hotel, was one of the most mouthwatering dining experiences while staying in New York City. The elegant and sophisticated dining room instantly draws you in and creates a private and intimate ambiance for the discerning diner. Service is impeccable throughout your meal bringing back a sense of old world New York charm and we loved the menu of elevated modern American cuisine.
Executive Chef Sylvain Delpique has expertly crafted a menu presenting his take on classic New York dining and throwback dishes from another era. His creative take is not only impressive in taste but the presentation brings the dining experience to another level. Highlights of our dinner included the buttery and fragrant Wild Burgundy Escargot with Vandouvan Butter, Tomato Concasse and Naan Bread, the perfectly seasoned and flavourful Steak Tartare with Quail Egg and Potato Chips, the delicate and fresh Faroe Island Salmon with Parmesan Crust, Fingerling Potatoes and Cream of Sorrel, and the juicy, melt in your mouth Filet Mignon with Red Wine Jus. Make sure to ask the sommelier for the perfect wine pairing and try some of their expertly made cocktails.
Make sure to save room for dessert and order the spectacular ice cream sundae served table side or sample their creamy and rich classic New York Cheesecake. An ideal place to impress your date or sample a decadent take on NYC dining. Stop by their grand bar for a nightcap to complete the perfect night out in the city.
