After we got “stuck” in Thailand in March 2020 due to the pandemic we decided to travel and explore the stunning country. Phuket is a lush and vibrant island full of diverse sights, resorts, and wildlife. Here’s a list of the most luxurious villas we were lucky enough to experience.

Centara is one of our favourite resort groups as a family and Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket was no exception. The sprawling property located on Karon Beach boasts five star facilities, dreamy villas, and mouthwatering dining options for the whole family. Ever was of course excited to see the pink accents throughout the resort and I loved all the picture perfect colonial details. Our two bedroom pool villa gave us a huge amount of space to settle in and unwind and the highlight was the outdoor terrace and stunning private pool. Families travelling with children will love the well located en-suite bedrooms ensuring you have privacy but are close enough to not worry if your children are still toddlers, and the variety of storage and dining areas meant it’s also well equipped for longer stays.

The five star resort boasts a plethora of room categories and luxury amenities for the discerning traveler. Our kids were ecstatic to see the fully equipped kids club and waterslides and we couldn’t get enough of the tranquil swimming pools, idyllic sea views, decadent spa, and being just steps from the local eats and shops of Karon Beach. Dining was a mouthwatering highlight at Centara Grand Beach Resort with plenty of Thai and Western options to please all tastes.

The luxurious five star villas at The Slate Phuket are some of the most decadent on the island and perfect if you are craving privacy and tranquility. The secure gate opens to a tropical oasis meticulously designed and maintained. I loved the mix of usable indoor and outdoor areas and the insanely decadent private pool which was a true highlight of our holiday. The master bedroom is housed separately in a quiet and ambient space. You are treated to an indulgent king size bed, huge jacuzzi bath, and stylish interiors. There’s plenty of space to unwind and relax and even add extra beds if you’re travelling with kids. The indoor lounge area is a cozy and elegant space for evening drinks or in-villa dinners. You also have the benefit of an in-villa massage room and relaxing sauna and steam room. Much of my time was spent soaking up the sunshine on the plush couches and we delved into mouthwatering breakfasts and hearty lunches underneath the trees beside our own pool.

There aren’t many reasons to leave your villa, especially as your butler will ensure everything you need is delivered in a timely manner, but The Slate is also a world class resort. Check out their award winning restaurants and five star spa or take a plunge in one of the main resort pools. Tour the grounds and be captivated by the impressive Bill Bensley designed architecture and walk a few steps to Nai Yang Beach to sample a few local street food stands or try the many watersports they have on offer. All of Phuket’s sights, shops, and eateries are only a short drive away and you’ll find yourself right at home when you return to the sanctuary of your villa. If you are craving a luxury getaway in a unique Phuket property, The Slate will ensure you have a trip to remember.

Banyan Tree's Double Pool Villas offer the ultimate private villa experience while still benefiting from the perks of staying in a five star resort at the heart of Phuket. As soon as you set foot through the grand entrance of the sprawling two bedroom Double Pool Villa, you know you’ll find it hard to leave. Located on the picture perfect lake you are treated to a long private pool complete with jacuzzi and beds for lounging in the sun. The vast villa boasts two large ensuite bedrooms, a separate lounge and dining area, a variety of usable outdoor spaces to relax and dine, and even a fully equipped kitchen if you feel like preparing your own meals. The grand master bedroom is surrounded by it’s own tranquil pool creating a calm oasis for rest and slumber. A small lounge area off the second bedroom is easily transformed into an office or kids play area and beautifully designed spaces allow in plenty of light and air creating a sense of grandeur. If you are looking to indulge within your villa staff can set up decadent afternoon teas and mouthwatering in villa bbqs complete with private chef. No request went unanswered and although we were within minutes of Phuket’s popular beaches, restaurants and shopping we found it hard to want to depart the comfort of our home away from home. For world class luxury and beautiful design in one of Phuket’s most well loved resorts there’s not much else that can beat a stay at a Double Pool Villa at Banyan Tree Phuket.

We felt right at home the minute we walked into Diamond Cliff Resort stunning two bedroom pool villa. The fusion of traditional Thai architecture alongside grand European accents made for a stylish yet rustic ambiance. We fully made use of having two large separate bedrooms, a sprawling lounge and dining area overlooking sea views and especially the fully equipped kitchen. Decadent details included the insanely deep jacuzzi bath, in villa sauna, and of course the beautiful private infinity pool perched above Patong.

If you can manage to pull yourself away from the luxurious villa the resort offers so much for your family. From mouthwatering dining destinations and two resort pools, to a fully staffed Kids Club and even the opportunity to dress in traditional Thai dress for an unforgettable photo opportunity. Not only will you be staying in the lap of luxury you’ll find it easy to explore Phuket right from your front step. I truly loved how the resort and staff integrated Thai culture throughout the property ensuring you enjoy a culturally rich and indulgent five star stay.

A safe family layover at Singapore Changi Airport with Aerotel Singapore

Travel has changed a lot since we were on our last International flight in March 2020, and with children we were naturally worried about the new process and hygiene standards throughout our journey. We were so happy to find Aerotel at Singapore Changi Airport for our long layover ensuring not only did our family stay safe and comfortable but we were ready for the next leg of our journey well fed and rested. As soon as we disembarked our plane a member of the Aerotel team were there to greet us at the gate. We did not have to line up in crowded groups or go to any transit zones but were transported by buggy immediately from gate to hotel check-in. The check-in process was quick and easy and before we knew it we were in the comfort of our family room ready for a good night’s sleep. The spacious room incorporated two large bedrooms, full bathroom, and cozy lounge. The room included a complimentary meal for each of us including Kid’s Meal options which were a huge hit with our children. When it was time for our flight the next morning, the lovely team gave us a wake-up call and escorted us by buggy directly to our gate. There is no safer way to have a layover than at Aerotel. The service was informative and helpful and being able to sleep, eat, and relax in the comfort of our room while waiting for our next flight was essential when travelling with young children. Highly recommended for families who are travelling through Singapore.
