Located in the stylish Akara Bangkok, Viva Filipinas serves mouthwatering, authentic Filipino fare perfect for family style dining. We always enjoy Filipino food when we visit the beautiful country, so were very excited to come across an authentic restaurant while staying in Bangkok. Their focus is on Filipino cuisine from Luzon, Visayas, & Mindanao and we tried some of our favourite specialities and were introduced to new ones as well.
We loved the traditional decor and display alongside high quality ingredients and mouthwatering generous dishes. The venue is set out for a lively ambiance and allows for live music performances alongside long tables which would easily host fun events or dinner parties. Filipino food is best when shared so make sure to bring friends and family so you can try a variety of the delectable menu.
Recommended dishes off the menu included the "Pastel de Lengua" An authentic Filipino dish cooked with beef tongue served in a creamy mushroom sauce, the "Sizzling Bulalo" Twisted classic bulalo served in a sizzling plate topped with creamy mushroom sauce, the "Embutido" A Filipino-style meatloaf made from ground pork, carrots, raisins and green peas rolled with boiled egg and sausage, the "Pinaputok na bangus" Grilled milkfish stuffed with tomatoes, onion and ginger served with soy sauce, chili and calamansi, the "Bangus Sisig" Crispy milkfish seasoned with soy sauce, ginger, red and green bell peppers served in sizzling plate and the "Lechon belly" Roasted rolled pork belly seasoned with herbs and spices and served with pickled papaya.
A truly fun and unique dining experience at the heart of Bangkok.
