Set in the picturesque grounds of Grand Hyatt Bali, Garden Cafe is a perfect spot to sample Indonesian flavours in relaxing and tranquil surroundings. After swimming in the refreshing resort pools and taking a walk along Nusa Dua beach we decided to take our kids for a quiet lunch at Garden Cafe. We grabbed a corner table beside the window and were able to overlook the lush greenery and serene ponds that adorn the sprawling five star property. The mouthwatering menu was brimming with decadent flavours and local recipes allowing us to try a taste of true Indonesian fare. Every plate was beautifully presented and highlighted by fragrant spices and delicate textures.

Recommendations from the snack menu include the "Ayam Goreng" Local spiced fried chicken with sambal mayo, the "Lumpia" Crispy vegetable spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, the "Tempeh Mendoan" Deep-fried tempeh with sweet soy and chili dipping sauce, and the "Satay Kampung" Char-grilled chicken and beef satay with pickles, peanut sauce and rice cake.

Highlights off from the main courses section included the signature "Sop Buntut" Slow-cooked beef oxtail with potatoes, carrot, tomatoes, spring onion, crispy shallots, steamed rice, green sambal and lime, the "Rendang Sapi" Slow-braised beef with coconut milk, ginger, galangal, shallot and chili, the "Ikan Bakar" Traditional char-grilled fish marinated with Balinese local spices, dry coconut and vegetables.

For dessert go for the Chocolate Brownie which is made from 100% natural banana flour and comes with Chocolate sauce, chocolate ice cream and whipped cream, or their Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Mango coulis and coconut crumbles.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate our children's tastes and we enjoyed a leisurely and relaxing lunch as a family in beautiful Nusa Dua.

A safe family layover at Singapore Changi Airport with Aerotel Singapore

Travel has changed a lot since we were on our last International flight in March 2020, and with children we were naturally worried about the new process and hygiene standards throughout our journey. We were so happy to find Aerotel at Singapore Changi Airport for our long layover ensuring not only did our family stay safe and comfortable but we were ready for the next leg of our journey well fed and rested. As soon as we disembarked our plane a member of the Aerotel team were there to greet us at the gate. We did not have to line up in crowded groups or go to any transit zones but were transported by buggy immediately from gate to hotel check-in. The check-in process was quick and easy and before we knew it we were in the comfort of our family room ready for a good night’s sleep. The spacious room incorporated two large bedrooms, full bathroom, and cozy lounge. The room included a complimentary meal for each of us including Kid’s Meal options which were a huge hit with our children. When it was time for our flight the next morning, the lovely team gave us a wake-up call and escorted us by buggy directly to our gate. There is no safer way to have a layover than at Aerotel. The service was informative and helpful and being able to sleep, eat, and relax in the comfort of our room while waiting for our next flight was essential when travelling with young children. Highly recommended for families who are travelling through Singapore.
