Hoshino Resorts KAI Nikko: A quiet and beautiful getaway set on picturesque Lake Chuzengi

Hungry Hong Kong

KAI Nikko is a quiet and beautiful getaway set on picturesque Lake Chuzengi. The inviting and traditional hotel features spacious, authentic ryokan rooms perfect for families and couples looking to relax and unwind. We loved our comfortable accommodation comprised of gigantic plush mattresses, a private invigorating onsen bathtub, and a welcoming lounge area facing unforgettable views of the lake and Mount Nantai. Each guest, including our children, received yakuta to wear around the property and we were able to enjoy the calm and healing outdoor onsens in traditional fashion. Dining was delicious with warming and comforting Japanese breakfasts and a kaiseki dinner experience for the whole family. We loved their dedication to local art and performances allowing us to learn about the surrounding village and it’s culture. An ideal choice to experience an authentic Japanese ryokan in a quaint and inspiring setting.

Dining at KAI Nikko is a mouthwatering traditional experience. Settle into one of the light and comfortable tatami rooms and prepare to be served a full kaiseki menu. You meal starts with delicate appetizers and fresh seafood and sashimi all comprised of local, fresh ingredients. The presentation is precise as are the uniquely vibrant and delicate flaovurs and textures. As we visited in the winter season our main course was a warming hot pot of KAI Nikko’s signature Wagyu Beef and Tofu Skin. The Wagyu was tender and flavourful and paired perfectly with the Soy Milk base. Our meal finished with comforting rice, miso soup and pickles as per tradition. Pair your meal with fragrant sakes from the menu and enjoy a live geta dance performance after dinner. A perfect way to experience authentic Japanese dining in a rustic and cozy environment.

A safe family layover at Singapore Changi Airport with Aerotel Singapore

Travel has changed a lot since we were on our last International flight in March 2020, and with children we were naturally worried about the new process and hygiene standards throughout our journey. We were so happy to find Aerotel at Singapore Changi Airport for our long layover ensuring not only did our family stay safe and comfortable but we were ready for the next leg of our journey well fed and rested. As soon as we disembarked our plane a member of the Aerotel team were there to greet us at the gate. We did not have to line up in crowded groups or go to any transit zones but were transported by buggy immediately from gate to hotel check-in. The check-in process was quick and easy and before we knew it we were in the comfort of our family room ready for a good night’s sleep. The spacious room incorporated two large bedrooms, full bathroom, and cozy lounge. The room included a complimentary meal for each of us including Kid’s Meal options which were a huge hit with our children. When it was time for our flight the next morning, the lovely team gave us a wake-up call and escorted us by buggy directly to our gate. There is no safer way to have a layover than at Aerotel. The service was informative and helpful and being able to sleep, eat, and relax in the comfort of our room while waiting for our next flight was essential when travelling with young children. Highly recommended for families who are travelling through Singapore.
