Abaca Boutique Resort & Restaurant: The ideal spot for a personalized, luxurious stay in beautiful Cebu

Hungry Hong Kong

Abaca Boutique Resort is the ideal spot for a personalized, luxurious stay in beautiful Cebu. The service at the resort was impeccable and every member of staff was not only extremely accommodating and friendly, but made it their mission to ensure your stay perfect and everything you needed was always on hand. Their limited amount of villas and rooms means that the entire resort feels extremely private and is perfect for a romantic retreat and families wanting to escape city noise. The stunning infinity pool is an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the oceans views while relaxing in their private and comfortable cabanas, and their decadent semi outdoor Abaca Restaurant provided us with one of the best meals we had in Cebu. We also loved their In-Villa Dining options making it easy to stay in our comfortable villa and dine by our private pool, and their decadent Breakfast served either in the restaurant or in the comfort of your room was a perfect start to every day.  We couldn’t recommend the resort more if you are looking for a true boutique experience on beautiful Mactan Island.

Abaca Restaurant

Abaca Restaurant, located in the luxurious Abaca Resort, features a beautiful semi outdoor dining area and mouthwatering inspired cuisine. Chef Patrick McCarthy has created a Mediterranean menu made from fresh produce and quality ingredients, and the generous portions make it ideal for either sharing family style in a group or as a couple over candlelight for a romantic sunset meal. Favourite dishes off the menu include the refreshing Crab Salad, the fragrant Steamed Black Mussels, the juicy, perfectly roasted Whole Chicken with Rosemary Honey, creamy and indulgent Pappardelle with Braised Veal, and the mediterranean inspired Whole Seabass with Roast Tomato, Asparagus and Roast Potato. For dessert we highly recommend the citrus Kalamancia Tart and the Chilled Mango Cheesecake with Creme Anglaise. The impressive quality was evident in every bite and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

In-Villa Dining

We loved our luxurious private pool villa at Abaca Resort and often found it hard to leave our relaxing sanctuary. Luckily Abaca serves a delicious lunch menu perfect for pool-side in-villa dining. We highly recommend their tender Roasted Cubano Sandwich, indulgent Abaca Burger, and juicy Wood Fried Chicken with Roast Garlic Mash. Each sandwich is served alongside fresh salad and a soup of the day making for a satisfying and relaxing dining experience.

Breakfast at Abaca Resort is a true treat. We loved the variety offered and the amazing staff who served it straight to our villa each morning creating a perfect start to our day. The options varied from freshly made Breakfast Flatbread Pizzas, classic Eggs Benedict, indulgent Banana and Mango Pancakes, delicious Cinnamon Brioche French Toast and their platter of fresh tropical fruit. Definitely a highlight during our relaxing stay.

Abaca Baking Company

Entering the Abaca Baking Company is like walking straight into your dream bakery. You are instantly greeted with a variety of pastries, cookies, cakes, breads, desserts, and so much more. The fragrance of the freshly baked goods is irresistible and everything is begging to be paired with a cup of their freshly brewed coffee. Upstairs is a relaxed dining space ideal for lazy breakfasts or a relaxed lunch on a work day. We loved the fact that they served breakfast all day long and couldn’t get enough of the hearty Skillet Breakfast and the perfectly constructed and tasty Croissant Sandwich. Satisfy your sweet tooth with one of the tastiest waffles we’ve sampled served with a generous helping of fresh tropical fruit. Don’t forget to take home a few of their baked goods so you can enjoy an indulgent dessert at home later. Perfect for satisfying breakfast and lunches in a casual and welcoming setting.

A safe family layover at Singapore Changi Airport with Aerotel Singapore

Travel has changed a lot since we were on our last International flight in March 2020, and with children we were naturally worried about the new process and hygiene standards throughout our journey. We were so happy to find Aerotel at Singapore Changi Airport for our long layover ensuring not only did our family stay safe and comfortable but we were ready for the next leg of our journey well fed and rested. As soon as we disembarked our plane a member of the Aerotel team were there to greet us at the gate. We did not have to line up in crowded groups or go to any transit zones but were transported by buggy immediately from gate to hotel check-in. The check-in process was quick and easy and before we knew it we were in the comfort of our family room ready for a good night’s sleep. The spacious room incorporated two large bedrooms, full bathroom, and cozy lounge. The room included a complimentary meal for each of us including Kid’s Meal options which were a huge hit with our children. When it was time for our flight the next morning, the lovely team gave us a wake-up call and escorted us by buggy directly to our gate. There is no safer way to have a layover than at Aerotel. The service was informative and helpful and being able to sleep, eat, and relax in the comfort of our room while waiting for our next flight was essential when travelling with young children. Highly recommended for families who are travelling through Singapore.
