AVANI Sepang Goldcoast Resort: Over water villas and a plethora of dining options

Hungry Hong Kong

AVANI Sepang, located approximately a 45 minute drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, is a great waterfront resort for families or groups looking for five star fun. We loved the beautiful and rustic over water villas creating a peaceful and serene ambiance. The resort offers a plethora of activities including bikes for getting around, a fully equipped gym, luxurious spa, friendly kids club, and water sports on the beach. We highly recommend checking out their Mangrove River Cruise to see the interesting wildlife Malaysia has to offer and spending lazy afternoons at their picturesque infinity pool on a clear day. The dining options are endless at AVANI Sepang and we were never bored with all the variety offered. For relaxing, easy meals check out the all day buffet at Bila-Bila or wood fired pizzas and local fare at Sepoi-Sepoi. If you are craving Chinese food, Hai Sang Lou is a must visit for Cantonese fare and dim sum lunches or try Stimbot for Thai food and a hotpot experience. Couples can indulge in a romantic night at Perahu with a fine dining Western set menu while watching beautiful sunset ocean views. With so many activities and convenient proximity to Kuala Lumpur, AVANI Sepang is a great way to escape the city and spend a few relaxing days by the ocean with your family, friends, or colleagues.

AVANI Sepang’s Mangrove Safari Tour

Explore Malaysia’s dense and diverse mangroves on AVANI Sepang’s Mangrove Safari Tour. The two hour experience is perfect for families or those interested in wildlife and wanting to get closer to nature. Our informative tour guide took us to explore the area and we came up close and personal with monkeys, monitor lizards, walking fish, and blue crabs. We  learned about the life cycle and growth of the mangrove tree, met friendly local fisherman, and our guide demonstrated how to dig for giant clams. A fun and exciting experience for all ages and a perfect way to see more of Malaysia’s wildlife.

Bila-Bila is AVANI Sepang’s spacious and welcoming all day dining restaurant. Stop by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and delve into the generous and delicious buffet. We loved the great variety of Asian and Western specialties including fragrant curries, fresh salads, juicy roasted chicken, and child friendly pastas. Don’t miss the tempting dessert selection and grab a seat outside during dinner for live music at sunset. Perfect for large groups traveling together or families who want variety and convenience. A daily stop for us while staying at AVANI Sepang.

Sepoi-Sepoi, located adjacent to AVANI Sepang’s beachfront, is a perfect spot for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Their menu includes classic Malaysian dishes alongside wood fired pizzas, hearty pastas, and irresistible smoothies and shakes. We loved the traditional dishes including the spicy and vibrant Asam Pedas “Melaka” and the rich and flavourful Beef Rendang. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the cheesy pizzas, Spaghetti Bolognese and thick Strawberry Berry smoothie.

Hai Sang Lou

Hai Sang Lou, AVANI Sepang’s Chinese restaurant, is a must visit while staying at the resort. The extensive menu boasts many decadent Cantonese specialities and an authentic dim sum lunch and we loved the grand design and beautiful ocean views. Favourite dishes included the decadent Peking Duck, indulgent Butter Prawns, fragrant Soups, addictive Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg, and delicious XO Fried Rice. Every dish was expertly prepared, beautifully displayed and the service was impeccable throughout. Pair your meal with wine from the impressive selection or a fragrant Chinese tea. A great spot for celebratory dinners or family meals during your stay.

Hotpot has been one of our favourite Asian dining experiences since moving to Hong Kong and we loved Stimbot’s version at AVANI Sepang. Our meal started with a selection of Thai appetizers including crisp Thai Chicken Wings, juicy Thai Beef Salad, and addictive Deep Fried Thai Fish Cakes. We chose for our hotpot to be half Spicy Tom Yum Broth and half Chicken Broth so the kids could join, and selected a variety of dishes including fresh dumplings, seafood, vegetables, fish balls and noodles. Make sure to grab a table by the window and enjoy the stunning sunset views while you dine.
