Hungry Hong Kong

SALA Phuket, located on picturesque Mai Khao Beach, is the ideal choice for a luxurious family getaway. Boasting sumptuous Private Pool Villas, a beachfront location, mouthwatering fine dining, and unforgettable experiences you won’t find anything missing during your stay at this five star establishment. We felt right at home in our beautiful Pool Villa Suite complete with gigantic king size bed, cozy separate lounge, decadent outdoor bathtub, and a large private swimming pool ideal for families. As part of their Family Getaway Package we were treated to roundtrip airport transfers, fun kids amenities, 2 hours complimentary babysitting, a beachfront picnic, and a design your own adventure complete with private driver. We absolutely loved the quiet and relaxing beach picnic with delicious fare and perfect views.  The kids were able to eat and play while we relaxed on the plush cushions under the shade.  For our adventure we chose a day at Phuket Nature Reserve which was one of the highlights of our trip. The children couldn’t get enough of the friendly elephants and the entire day was both interactive and educational. We enjoyed delicious fare at the award winning SALA Restaurant and couldn’t get enough of the high quality produce which was expertly cooked with both Western and Thai options and a kids menu our little ones looked forward to every day. We highly recommend attending the Cultural Night and sampling the Four Regions Tasting Menu during your stay for a taste of local fare and traditional entertainment. SALA Phuket was not only welcoming and hospitable but went out of their way to make each day memorable. We highly reccomened for families or couples looking for a five star stay in the heart of Phuket.

SALA Restaurant

SALA Restaurant is the ideal backdrop for a romantic evening or ambient dinner while staying in Phuket. We loved the outdoor seating with views of the stunning sunset and beautiful horizon. The extensive menu features a plethora of mouthwatering fare with both decadent Western dishes and authentic local fare on offer. We loved the creamy Braised Massaman Lamb Meatballs in a Mild Curry, the fragrant and flavourful Thai Style Market Fresh White Snapper served Whole and Boneless with Mango Salad, the tender and crisp Confit Duck Leg which is cured overnight then braised for 9 hours, and the irresistibly juicy 100% Grass Fed Angus & Hereford Australian Heritage Black Angus Beef Tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the children’s menu selection and we felt welcome every evening by the friendly and accommodating staff. A beautiful setting for a delicious and enjoyable dinner on picturesque Maikhao beach.

Four Regions Tasting Menu

Sample a variety of mouthwatering traditional Thai flavours with SALA Phuket’s Four Regions Tasting Menu. The beautiful and ambient restaurant at SALA Phuket is the ideal backdrop for a beautiful evening and dinner with family or friends. We loved watching the bright and mesmerising sunset before digging into a delectable Thai feast. Our family fully enjoyed the traditional performances that played throughout the evening and the service was both friendly and hospitable throughout our dinner.  A perfect way to spend an evening on Maikhao beach.

Phuket Nature Reserve

As part of the Family Getaway Package at SALA Phuket we were able to visit the beautiful and exciting Phuket Nature Reserve for the ideal day out our kids. The picturesque elephant sanctuary is home to two friendly elephants saved from a riding attraction in Patong. Not only did we have the opportunity to meet and interact with these incredible animals but we learned so much about captive elephants, the dangers of elephant shows, and how to care and feed the animals. The interactive day included feedings, watching them bathe, a hike alongside the elephants, and also preparing their food. We were treated to a traditional Thai vegetarian lunch while enjoying views of the surrounding jungle, and loved every minute of our time with the knowledgeable staff and friendly elephants. A must do when visiting Phuket and a great way to support the sanctuary in saving more elephants from harmful attractions.
