Woman dies after crashing during a chase with Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies

January 5, 2023 - According to a press release by the Montgomery County Sheriff's office, multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a fatality crash that occurred during a high-speed chase in the 13400 block of Rogers Rd in Willis, TX around 8:30 p.m.

Police say they responded to a report of family violence in progress on Frontier Drive in Willis, TX around 8:10 p.m.

While deputies were on their way, they received information that the woman left the scene of the family violence call and was able to locate a vehicle that matched the description of the woman's vehicle.

As police tried to pull her over, the woman took off and led police on a brief pursuit before crashing into a tree on Rogers Road in Willis, Texas.

Police tried to help the woman after she crashed into a tree, but unfortunately, the woman passed away due to her injuries.

The woman was identified as 52-year-old, Mandy Norris of Willis, Texas. Mandy's husband was not injured and is cooperating with the police.

Several agencies are still investigating the circumstances of the crash. These agencies include the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Unit. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the family violence incident.
