Double shooting with AK-47 on Aldine Westfield leaves two men dead in north Houston

Two men are dead following a shootout in the 10200 Block of Aldine Westfield at Parker Rd. in north Houston. The shooting occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on July 27, 2022, in front of Coop Elementary School.

First responders with the Houston Fire Department pronounced the two teens deceased at the scene. A handgun was also found next to the teens that were laying in the street, next to a white Honda Accord. Police had the entire intersection blocked off as they worked to determine what happened.

The Honda had damage on the front bumper area, and the driver's side headlight was out. At least one of the back windows was damaged. Police on the scene stated there was some sort of altercation that led up to the shooting but it is not clear exactly what that altercation was about or if the victims knew each other before the altercation. Police say a black truck with four people inside was following the white accord down Parker and shot at the two men.

Family members of at least one of the victims have been notified and were on the scene during the investigation.

It is unknown at this time if the suspect(s) were injured during the shooting.

The Houston Police Department is leading the investigation. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crimestoppers at 713-222-TIPS or contact HPD directly.

This is a developing story as the investigation is still very preliminary. There are still a lot of unknowns. We will be updating this story as details unfold.
