DEARBORN, MI - The Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department offers residents of all ages the opportunity to enjoy both active and passive leisure pursuits. They also partner up with various organizations to provide the opportunity for the youth to participate in programs at a reduced cost to the taxpayer.

Currently, they are seeking volunteers to support their programs. If you want to contribute, you can do so by applying to these volunteer opportunities.

  • Dog Park Support Committee

A number of volunteers are needed to assist the Dog Park Support Committee. Their tasks include monitoring and enforcing the facility's laws and regulations, maintaining and cleaning the facility, and responding to residents' constructive feedbacks about the park. Those interested in joining the Dog Park Support Committee should call (313) 943-2410.

  • Meals on Wheels

The department is in need of Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers to bring meals with such a courteous service to Dearborn's homebound elders. Volunteers can either drive on a regular route or as substitute drivers. Depending on your preferences, the route you opt for might be one day each week or more. In the morning, routes typically take one to two hours. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact CeCe Pilon at (313) 943-2009 or cpilon@ci.dearborn.mi.us.

  • Michael A. Guido Theater

The theater is looking for volunteer ushers to work for as little as two events each month, but you may dedicate as much time as your schedule permits. This position also comes with a plethora of perks, such as free registration to see live performances. To apply, call (313) 943-4467 or e-mail bherm@ci.dearborn.mi.us.
