DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO - The Master Gardener of Douglas County will help you by providing advice and useful information about gardening. Trained volunteers from Douglas County Extension Office will answer your questions about vegetable gardening, flowers, trees, shrubs, lawns, pruning, watering, plant disease and diagnosis, insect problems, composting, and environmental concerns.
You can ask for advice or information about gardening by emailing your question to dcmgardenr@gmail.com. The virtual helpdesk will answer questions 7 days a week.
If you are looking to provide your community with knowledge about gardening, the Master Gardeners are also available to be a speaker for a webinar about gardening topics such as flower or vegetable gardening, landscaping, xeriscaping, houseplant care, turf management, insect and weed control, and various horticulture topics. Colorado Master Gardener also opens enrollment for someone who is interested in gardening, education, and volunteering and joins the Colorado Master Gardener Enrollment every year. The registration for 2021/2022 Colorado Master Gardener is open on September 1st, 2021.
Things to Know Before Applying the Colorado Master Gardener Enrollment
The minimum age requirement is 18 years old
If you are accepted, you have to pay training fees every subsequent year ($25 - $35)
Scholarship for the fee is also available. The detail can be seen in the application.
Contact the Douglas County Extension Office if you are TANF eligible and interested to be a Colorado Master Gardener
You will have to attend a minimum of 80% class/lab attendance and passing the final exam with a minimum of 70%.
