A Closer Look

The Daytona Beach Sloppy Joe's was located at the Ocean Walk Shoppes retail center in the heart of the city's beachside entertainment district.

The operators of the Key West-themed Sloppy Joe's restaurant at Ocean Walk Shoppes announced their decision to shut its doors on Facebook, saying:

"With a heart full of gratitude we announce the permanent closure of Sloppy Joe's Daytona after an incredible 13 years of serving our amazing community. As of November 27, 2023, this location is closed."

The last few years, particularly this year of 2023, have seen the closure of countless business operations; a sad development, indicative of the pandemic residue, and the subsequent increasing economic challenges around the country and throughout the world.

The closure of the Sloppy Joe's restaurant in Daytona compounds the issue, certainly on a local scale for the surrounding beach community.
