Fri-yay is here, and a lot is happening in Nashville this weekend. If you aren't going to see Beyonce, there are lots of *FREE* things to do around town, or if you are in town for the big show, you might want to take advantage of these free events before and after! This week you will find some Beyonce pre-party fun, a 21+ costume-encouraged Barbie-themed event, things for the kids, and more!

  • Sylvan Park is a charming residential neighborhood full of tree-lined streets and historic homes but also features shops, restaurants, and nightlife, as the name states - a beautiful park right off Charlotte Ave, perfect for picnics and kids' playtime.
  • The Nations has a thriving food and drink scene featuring breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops.
  • Germantown has historic charm, modern amenities, boutique shops, and eclectic dining experiences.
  • East Nashville is known for its bohemian feel and artistic atmosphere. The area has cultural diversity, historic homes, unique shops, and a thriving local music scene.

Buying and Using Fireworks in the Davidson County TN - Metro Nashville Area

Although many surrounding counties allow the sale and restricted use of fireworks, Davidson County remains a fireworks-free area, at least by law and county ordinance. In the Nashville and Metro Nashville area, it is illegal to buy or sell fireworks, and it is also unlawful to set off fireworks without a permit in Davidson County. Fireworks stands are a stone's throw away from the county line, making purchasing private-use fireworks easily accessible. However, setting off fireworks on your property is prohibited if you live in Davidson County. If you receive a citation, it is considered a misdemeanor, and if convicted, you can face a fine of up to $50.
