(Castle Rock, Colo.) Castle Rock Police Department is participating in National Night Out, scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Philip S. Miller Park pavilions.
The National Night Out campaign seeks to foster positive relationships between police departments and the residents they serve. The event is hosted annually on the first Tuesday in August across the country by thousands of law enforcement agencies.
The family-friendly event provides direct interactions with officers and department staff to learn about the department.
This year’s event will feature booths hosted by CRPD’s specialized units and teams. Attendees can ask questions, view live demonstrations of specialized units, like the K-9 and SWAT units, and collect Castle Rock Police Department “swag” items.
“We look forward to National Night Out every year,” said Jack Cauley, Castle Rock police chief. “All of our teams and units are represented, so you really get a chance to connect with all of our members one-on-one.”
In addition to swag giveaways, CRPD will serve free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks to those in attendance.
