With autumn quickly approaching (and, finally, a reduction in the brutal summer heat), a host of outdoor activities are scheduled throughout the state. One of the most popular events, for locals and visitors alike, is on the docket for this coming weekend, as the return of the annual Sedona Winefest is right around the corner. So, whether you live in the area or have been looking for an excuse to get out of town, the festival promises to offer plenty of fun, excitement, and, of course, wine to take in this coming weekend.
This year marks the 14th annual rendition of the Sedona Winefest. Held at the Sedona Posse Grounds Park, located at 525 Posse Ground Road this coming Sunday the 24th and Monday, the 25th, guests will have the opportunity to sample wine from over 25 different wineries from across the state. Additionally, there will be a host of food trucks, arts, and craft vendors, as well as live music taking place throughout the two-day event.
Currently, some of the live musicians scheduled to take the stage include The Sugar Thieves and DJ Pablo (most of the live music will take place on Sunday). Some of the wineries serving up libations during the festival include Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, Page Springs Cellars, Pierce Bodega, Copper Horse Vineyard, Oak Creek, Coronado Vineyard, Sun Vino Winery, Grand Canyon Wine Company, Cove Mesa Vineyard, Chateau Tumbleweed, Laramita Cellars, High Lonesome Vineyard, Cellar Winery, Southwest Wine Center, Omphalos Winery, Four Eight Wine Works, Four Tails Vineyard, Elgin, Seventeen Sixty-Four, Da Vines Vineyard, and Caduceus Cellars.
Wine tasting is included with the purchase price of the ticket. Guests can also purchase bottles of wine from participating vineyards. This makes it easy enough to identify wine you like and take a bottle or two back home with you following the event.
Tickets to each day of the Winefest cost $35.00 and include wine tasting. If you or a member of your party wants to attend and take in the live music (and other festivities) but does not want to drink, admission is $10.
If you are interested in turning the winefest into an entire weekend event, there is a special Sedona Winefest 2023 Kick-Off Party taking place on Friday the 22nd. Tickets to the kickoff party include general admission, dinner, wine tasting, live music, and dancing. Tickets (which cost $106.43 with the included service fee) benefit The Verde Valley Wine Consortium.
