Unless you are an avid mall shopper (or just really love hitting up Hobby Lobby), you might have missed one of the newest additions to the local restaurant scene. It opened a few weeks back with little fanfare, although this might have been due to its national brand recognition so it doesn’t need to have the massive celebrations when it opens. Regardless, if you are a resident in greater Flagstaff, a new and yet familiar restaurant is now up and running on the east side.
Tucked off just outside the Flagstaff Mall, Panda Express opened about a month ago at the north end of the shopping center, just outside of Hobby Lobby. Located at 4565 East Marketplace Drive, it is a stone’s throw away from N 89, making it genuinely easy to access. Whether you are visiting one of the stores in the mall, or you’re out for a hike at the North 89 Trailhead, it is an excellent destination for refueling or when you just want a quick fill-up on the familiar New York-style Chinese food.
Of course, Panda Express already has a rather solid footprint around greater Flagstaff, although most are located around the city center. The new location is the perfect option for individuals who live on the east side of the city and don’t want to take I-40 (or N 89/Route 66) west into the city. It’s also a fine option for snowbirds looking to camp out at the KOA.
Panda Express also allows you to set up your order before pulling up to its East Marketplace Drive location, so you don’t have to stand around and wait for the food to be scooped up and portioned out. Directly through the Panda Express website, you can set up an order so everything is all set for you. And, if you are a regular guest of the restaurant (regardless of the location), you are able to sign up for the company’s reward system. This allows you to earn points for all of the food you purchase at any participating Panda Express website in order to redeem later for free meals. You even receive a complimentary birthday gift every year. So when your family and friends forget it’s your birthday, at least you’ll get something from Panda Express.
If you have a craving for some mall food court food without actually having to set foot inside the Flagstaff Mall, this new Panda Express is open from 10 AM until 10 PM seven days a week.
