Fan Favorite Mexican Taco Restaurant Opens Second Location

Greyson F

When the food is good, a restaurant can get away with many things. Poor location, interior decorating, and in the case of one small joint in metro Phoenix, no marketing. It forces the restaurant to rely completely on word of mouth, so when the restaurant does well, it says something about the establishment. For one Valley area Mexican restaurant, business has been so good, despite having no marketing or online presence, it has officially expanded to a second location.

The Mexican restaurant of Tacos Chisco has been pumping out tacos for the greater Glendale area over the last year, without letting anyone know of its existence. Not only does the restaurant not have any kind of marketing, it doesn’t have any kind of online presence either. There’s no website, no social media, and guests can only place delivery orders through third-party services (and even those are limited). Despite the lack of a digital presence, the  popularity of the restaurant has allowed it to spin off a second, satellite location, this time at the northern edge of Phoenix.

Located at 1820 West Northern Avenue (Suite 140), the restaurant has now officially opened its doors. The name is a bit different though, as it goes by Tacos Chisco Bar & Grill, so expect to find a few more money (and drink) options served up.

If you have not yet been to the original location, it specializes in, obviously, tacos. The Cochinita Pibil Tacos are the house's signature offering, which features pork, marinated in citrus juices and axiote seasoning wrapped in a banana leaf and slowly cooked for eight hours. Once the pork is ready it is added to the tortilla and topped off with habaneros, red onions, avocado salsa, and cilantro.

Aside from the house signature taco, you can order al pasto, carne asada, carnitas, fish, grilled shrimp, pollo, and even cactus and goat tacos. You’re not going to find many taco restaurants around town that offer up goat tacos so that alone makes it worth the visit (if the house signature taco hasn’t enticed you enough yet). Additionally, the menu features fajita protein bowls, burritos, quesadillas, fire-roasted elote, and several other options

If you are interested in stopping by, the restaurant is open Sunday from 8 AM until 9 PM, on Monday from 10 AM until 9 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM until 9 PM, on Friday from 8 AM until 9 PM, and on Saturday from 11 AM until 9 PM.
