Love them or hate them, restaurants for ages have looked toward quirky, even downright filthy names to draw attention to both their location as well as the items on their food. Of course, this is nothing unique to restaurants. If you have ever walked down the beer section of your local grocery store or Total Wine, you’ve probably come across more than a few brews with cheeky, almost pushing NC-17-rated names. It’s all part of the marketing, and an attempt to drum up attention for a new business. Naturally, without quality products behind the name all of those raunchy titles and childish titles don’t mean all that much. That is why one particular taco joint, that is making its way to Phoenix, has been turning heads online.
Los Tacos Malcriados, Spanish for The Naughty Tacos has become a bit of an Internet sensation of late. Reviewing food online has been around since about the creation of the Internet, and this trend has expanded further with the advent of Twitter, Instagram, and more recently, TikTok. Thanks to Internet attention, The Naughty Tacos has been able to capitalize on its naughty names and its expansive menu to bring in attention. And all of this attention is now leading to the opening of a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the heart of Phoenix.
Very little is currently known about the actual location of the new restaurant, which is rather odd in that Naughty Tacos has plans on opening by the end of the month. Until then, the food will continue to be served via its food truck, which travels around greater Phoenix, as it sets up throughout the city. To stay on top of where the physical location will open it is best to check out the Naughty Tacos website, as it does provide regular updates.
In case you haven’t seen Naughty Tacos online, or haven’t stopped by its circulating food truck, there is often a rotating menu on display, with the latest from the restaurant. This includes the Cornography (which is a mix between ramen and street corn), and Breakfast Doggos (a hot dog smothered with refried beans, eggs, crunchy potatoes, and chorizo). And an assortment of other goodies. This is one of the few places in the city where you can order both tacos and ramen at the same time (they recommend dipping your hard-shelled taco into the ramen to help soak up the flavor).
