For prime locations around metro Phoenix, when a restaurant closes down it doesn’t take long for a replacement restaurant to move right on in. Often the lease for the new restaurant is signed before the previous tenant has even moved out. For north Scottsdale locals and lovers of juicy steak burgers, one prime location is already slinging local favorites.

Matty G’s Steakburgers has started to spread itself into the Valley’s thriving burger market. With its latest location, Matty G’s now has five in metro Phoenix and two in Scottsdale alone. While the restaurant claims it “quite possibly (has) the greatest burger on the planet,” there’s no denying the restaurant chain’s success. The East Valley Tribune did award Matt G’s with its Best Local Burger for 2022, so it does have that feather in its cap.

The new location is found at 13802 North Scottsdale Road. It is in the same shopping strip as the Scottsdale & Thunderbird Goodwill Retail Store just north of the Thunderbird intersection.

For guests who have not yet been to a Matty G’s Steakburgers location, the burger menu is impressive. While it is always possible for guests to make their own burger creation, the expansive menu has all kinds of options to choose from. There is the All-Star, which features two steakburger patties, Matty G’s Fry sauce, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, and tomato. There is the Luck of the Irish, which comes with two steakburger patties, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, Matty G’s fry sauce, all between a marble rye bun. For those looking for a burger with some kick to it, the Rattlers Burger is a mound of madness, offering three steakburger patties, grilled Ortega chile, fried onion strings, grilled jalapenos, ghost pepper and pepper jack cheese, BBQ sauce, and ranch dressing. Altogether, there are more than 25 signature burgers to choose from.

For guests who want something other than burgers, the restaurant also slings out several signature hot dogs, salads, wraps, baskets (like french fries, fried pickles, and onion rings), as well as street food. The street food offering is especially popular, with the likes of chili cheese fries, popcorn fries, San Diego chicken, and pastrami fries. There is also a small dessert menu for anyone looking to add a bit of sweetness to end their meal. The restaurant is open 11 AM until 9 PM every single day of the week.
