The summer months haven’t been all that kind to a number of local restaurants in greater Phoenix. This in itself isn’t out of the usual, as the snowbirds who come to Arizona for much of the late fall and winter, are not in town, and many who do live in the Valley prefer to avoid going out in the extreme heat. And then this year, with the higher than normal gas prices, restaurants have seen a downturn in traffic. This has led to several closures throughout metro Phoenix. And now, there is another local restaurant to add to the “Closed” list.

Bevvy, located in Uptown Phoenix, is probably best known for what it doesn’t have than what it does. The restaurant’s servers and bartenders are regularly decked out in nothing but underwear, although sometimes guests might spot nighties and other sleepwear. The restaurant, which was opened by snowbirds themselves, has special sporting events to celebrate a number of out-of-town teams, including the New England Patriots and the Michigan Wolverines (although the Arizona Wildcats are also a popular team at Bevvy). All of the celebrations hosted by Bevvy in Old Town will need to go somewhere else though, as the restaurant has unexpectedly closed up shop.

There is no explanation as to why the restaurant has closed. It did not issue any kind of statement on the front door of the business, nor does its social media profiles have any inclusion as to what happened, despite the most immediate Facebook post being just five days old. The Uptown Phoenix location has also been removed from its website. For fans of the restaurant (and the attire), the Scottsdale location is still open and can be found at 4420 North Saddlebag Trail.

For guests who have not been to the restaurant before, there are a handful of starters, including Macho Nachos, Chicken Wings, Fried Pickle Chips, Crispy Coconut Shrimp, as well as Baked Spinach and Artichoke Dip. Guests with more of an appetite can enjoy the Bevvy Burger, a Club Sammy, a Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich, The Chick (which is a lime grilled chicken sandwich), Jameson Bacon and Bleu Burger, as well as a Chicken Avocado Wrap. There is also a host of specialty drinks to choose from.

The remaining restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday, from 11 AM until 12 AM, on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM until 2 AM. Happy Hour is Monday through Friday, from 4 PM until 7 PM.
