Popular Brewpub Set to Close Downtown

For many, nothing beats the Arizona heat like sipping on a crisp, refreshing beer, while soaking up the AC from inside a large-windows establishment. In Tucson, there are a handful of breweries that offer locally crafted beer for exactly that purpose. However, one Tucson brewery will be closing its downtown storefront for good.

Ten55 Brewing Company has surpassed the 10-year mark in its quest to offer Tucson locals a craft beer that’s made just down the street. During this time, the brewery has made a handful of location jumps, in order to better serve its customers. This included a move in 2018 to its 110 East Congress Street location. However, due to space limitations, the brewery has decided to shutter this location. It’s just no longer large enough to satisfy its operational needs.

Sunday, May 29 will be the final day to visit the downtown brewery. Ten55 is hoping it can have a new base of operations, located in Midtown, open and ready to go by the end of summer, or at the latest by the time fall comes around, students are back, and college football is in the air.

The new location has not yet been announced, so this could delay how long it takes for Ten55 Brewing Company to open back up. It wants to remain close enough to the action to make it easy for both students and locals to visit whenever they are craving a craft beer or food from the restaurant. However, in order to meet the needs of the brewery/restaurant/distribution center, it does dramatically limit the available options. Some construction work may be necessary. Once the new location is identified, installation of the brewing equipment will need to start, and the brewing process itself will take several weeks to jump-start, so don’t be surprised if there are additional delays in when the brewery will open back up.

The brewpub offers a number of beers, designed to satisfy the taste buds of all drinkers. This includes the golden ale Casa55, the Outpost Hefeweizen, the strong bitter ESB 2.0, the American amber ale Gran Fondo, the Ten55 IPA, and the XOXO Coffee Stout. The menu at Ten55 Brewing Company also offers a selection of food to be paired with its beer, including Kennebec fries, taco trio, Caesar salad, grilled cheese and tomato bisque, plus the classic fish and chips. There is no word yet as to whether the food menu will change or remain the same at the new location.
