A new restaurant has made its way south from Idaho and landed smack in the heart of Phoenix. And this new restaurant isn’t like other freshly opened eateries. Here, it’s all about going big on flavor and giving guests a tasty, mouth-watering dining experience that’s packed with dripping sauces, flavorful sliders, and beverages that take decorations to the next level.
Sid’s Garage made the drive down from Boise (there’s also a location in Meridian, Idaho) and instead of a pit stop in the Copper State, owners Nicole and Will Primavera have decided to call Phoenix their new home. And they are not settling for a small slice of the desert. Instead, they have moved into the Desert Ridge Marketplace and taken over an over 3,000 square foot plot right next to the AMC movie theater, making it perfect for any pre or post-movie eating.
The restaurant itself has a bit of a garage vibe to it. There’s a mechanical-meets-industrial look to it, and yet it still holds onto an inviting quality. And within the belly of Sid’s Garage is a menu that, at first glance, comes off as traditional diner fare, but that’s where the comparisons end. The restaurant might offer shakes, burgers, and bacon, but the ingredients are designed to hit every single taste bud. For example, when bacon is included in any dish, it hails from Snake River Farm and each strip of bacon has been cured for two days. Just about everything is overflowing and dripping out, both in terms of taste and in terms of actual ingredients overflowing burgers. The Not So Whimpie Burger features candied bacon, aged cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and a secret sauce that’ll require even the neatest of eaters to grab for a handful of napkins.
Other burgers on the menu include the Boss Hog, which uses a 48-hour slow-cooked pork belly, topped with onion rings and finished with a sriracha-bourbon sauce. And then there is the Steakhouse burger, which includes steak seasoning, sharp cheddar cheese, remoulade onion marmalade, a grilled tomato slice, and baby arugula.
Maybe you’d want to combine a beverage with the meal. While there is a full bar and signature cocktails, there are also a number of shakes, including the Death By Chocolate shake, which uses chocolate buttercream and ice cream, dark chocolate cake, and chocolate chips.
Sid’s Garage, which will open in May, will be located at 21001 North Tatum Blvd and is open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 AM until 9 PM, and on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM until 10 PM. It will be closed on Tuesdays.
