For anyone who’s been searching for a new sit-down restaurant offering an assortment of meat cuts and kitchen flair from around the world, a new destination is opening up soon in metro Phoenix to help fill and satisfy that void.

Acqua di Mare is a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant that aims to bring the best of Greek, French, and Italian cooking techniques to offer patrons a new take on traditional fine dining. The name of the restaurant translates to Water of the Seas and the menu will reflect both the seaside and countryside menus of these prominent Mediterranean countries.

The restaurant, which is headed to downtown Chandler (at the intersection of Oregon and Boston), will feature several opening week specials, which will be served on top of the regular menu. The specials include Acqua Di’ Mare Pasta, which features shrimp, scallops, octopus, mussels, as well as a house tomato red wine sauce and capers. The tomahawk steak will be prepared over a charcoal grill and served with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and then the Spanish paella is served with saffron rice, a white wine, and a seafood mix.

Many of the menu items will be prepared tableside, so guests can watch as their food is prepared specifically for them. So those who love to visit restaurants with an open viewing area of the kitchen will enjoy this opportunity at Acqua di Mare.

The full menu will offer an expansive number of surf and turf options. Under the Primi Piatti menu, guests can find items including octopus (served with celery, root pure, capers, and sauteed onion), pork belly, porcini risotto, and Meze Mediterranean, which is highlighted with prosciutto, soppressata, finocchiona, and a cheese selection. The plate menu is highlighted by a lobster di’ mare, rack of lamb, Tuscan veal chop, and shrimp provencal. There is also an expansive soup and salad menu, plus several pasta dishes for anyone hungry for some Mediterranean carbs. To finish off the meal, there is a selection of dessert options, including baklava, cannolis, and crepe Balan rouge (which is vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and a chambortana sauce)

Acqua di Mare is located at 106 South Oregon Street in Chandler. An official opening date, as well as hours of operation, have not yet been released by the restaurant. For those interested in staying on top of Acqua di Mare, the best way to do so will be to follow the restaurant’s Facebook page for all announcements regarding the official opening in Chandler.
