When returning to KC, plans went into works and the very first Chicken N Pickle’s opened. And now, the restaurant and pickleball destination has announced they will be opening a new location in Glendale by the end of the year.
The exact address and a more specific opening date have not yet been announced, but for locals in Glendale and those visiting to take in a sporting event, it provides another opportunity to have some fun outside of the house. This will be the first location to open in Arizona. All current locations are found in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Overland Park, San Antonio, and Grand Prairie.
Each local is an especially large, indoor/outdoor entertainment complex. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to watch the big game, or for those who enjoy outdoor leisure games. It’s not all pickleball courts. There’s also space for cornhole, oversized Jenga, and so much more.
Pickleball is a sport similar to tennis, only the courts are smaller and there is a modified racket. It’s more akin to a cross between tennis and badminton. The game first started out in Washington state during the 1960s and has since slowly expanded outward. It became popular in retirement communities, where snowbirds would play the game, and then return home and play the game during the summer. This helped spread the game to the Northeast and Midwest.
