The greater Yuma community will be with one fewer restaurant, now that a popular destination has shut its doors for good. Zydeco Grill, located at 11411 South Fortuna Road, made the sudden announcement last week, and now fans of the restaurant will be left looking for other ways to get their dinner fill.

Last week, on Zydeco Grill’s Facebook page, the restaurant made the sudden announcement about its immediate closure. The post said that effective immediately, the restaurant was closed and would not be opening again. The post thanked its employees and loyal guests for the years of dedication and support. However, in the end, the restaurant faced too many uphill battles over the past year and change for it to overcome.

Since the post went live, dozens of fans of the restaurant commented and shared their support of the restaurant. There were also over 100 reactions to the post as well. Further details for the closure have not been released, and, as of this writing, there are no plans for the restaurant to return, or for the owners to move to another location. The official restaurant website has been taken down, and so now, the only thing that remains is the storefront and the Facebook page.

For the time being there have not been announcements from the landlord regarding what might move in to replace the restaurant. However, it is in a desirable location right on Fortuna Road and a stone’s throw from Interstate 8. With other restaurants in the area, including Wheezy's Grill and Sportsbar, as well as Da Boyz Pizza & Pasta, there’s a strong chance another restaurant will eventually move into its place. Restaurant or not though, patrons of Zydeco Grill may not find a full replacement for the extensive menu offered, which included everything from prime rib to gumbo.

For anyone that wants to leave their well-wishes or who want to stay up to date on any kind of news that might come out of the restaurant or its ownership, the best (and at this point only) way to do so is to follow the Zydeco Grill Facebook page. Updates since the official announcement of the restaurant have not come, as the last post on the page was the closure announcement. But, at the very least, fans of the restaurant can leave their thoughts under the post and connect with other fans of the former establishment.
