DJ Khaled is known worldwide for his music. The Grammy-award-winning producer, who spent much of his early life growing up in New Orleans, is responsible for songs like “Higher” (featuring John Legend), “I’m on One” (featuring Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and Drake), and Major Key. However, he’s hoping you’ll soon know him for something else: chicken wings.
DJ Khaled recently announced the launch of a new restaurant called “Another Wing. He is planning more than just a small rollout. The restaurant will open in 30 cities around the world, including destinations like Paris and Dubai. Phoenix is on the list for not just one, but four Another Wing restaurants.
The restaurant will be delivery only and will feature a number of sauce options and meal combos. All of the wings come with “saucy” names, including You Loyal! Lemon Pepper, Mogul Bourbon BBQ, Un Un Un Believable Buffalo, and Don’t Quit Nashville Hot. Side options for the wing restaurant will include waffle fries, onion rings, cheese fries, and truffle parm fries, to name a few.
This is not DJ Khaled's first dive into the world of food. He opened The Licking in Chicago in 2019, which has proven popular enough to bring about a second location in the city. To help him with the development of Another Wing restaurant, Khaled partnered with REEF, which is a virtual restaurant operator with brands including 800 Degrees Pizza and Wendy’s under its belt. With the help of REEF, over 100 sauces were sampled before settling on the current selection.
The restaurant will not be available for any dine-in orders, and currently, pick-up is not an option either. The restaurant is considered a “ghost” restaurant, in that it does not have a traditional storefront, and in many ways, customers don’t know the exact location where it’s coming from (although it’s not difficult to find out). This helps keep overhead to as low of an expense as possible, and it’s even possible for the location to change, should another spot pop up around metro Phoenix that would prove more financially beneficial, or that would cut delivery time and boost customer retention.
If you are interested in trying the sauces and wings from Another Wing restaurant, you can head over to the Another Wing website and order food through one of the partnered delivery services, including GrubHub, Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, and others. You can also follow them on their social platforms for updates.
