New Burger Restaurant Open in Town

Sometimes there’s nothing like biting down into a juicy, perfectly prepared burger. There are a number of exceptional burger joints around Tucson, so no matter if you’re a fast-food lover or you’d rather sit down in a formal restaurant, there is sure to be something ready to satisfy your burger eating needs. And that number has officially expanded by one with the opening of the Little Love Burger.

Little Love Burger has been in the works for some time now, with it officially opening its doors on Wednesday (October 20). Tucked in on Congress Street, it is taking over the spot formerly occupied by Diablo Burger. 

Despite “little” being in the name, there’s nothing little about the menu. It’s far more than just a burger restaurant, so no matter what the family is hungry for, you all should be able to find something that satisfies the rumble in your tummy. In addition to the wide selection of burgers, you’ll also find milkshakes, made with ice cream from the HUB Ice Cream parlor, chicken sandwiches (because you can’t have a burger joint without a chicken sandwich option these days), and several hot dogs. 

There is even an extensive breakfast menu offered, so if you’d rather ditch the drive-through egg sandwiches and would rather opt for a freshly made breakfast sandwich that tastes as fresh as it does delicious, consider stopping by Little Love Burger for an early morning bite to eat (especially on game day Saturdays, as it’s a fantastic way to get things started if you’re out early).

If you have allergies or are on a set diet, you can find the perfect burger for you at Little Love Burger as well. This includes plant-based meats instead of a traditional beef patty, or you can opt for the gluten-free selection as well. After all, regardless of what your eating restrictions might be, you still deserve to enjoy a freshly made burger.

If you don’t recall where Diablo Burger was set up, you’ll find the new Little Love Burger tucked in at 312 East Congress. Its hours of operations will be Sunday through Wednesday, 8 AM until 9 PM, and then on Thursday through Saturday, it will be opening at 8 AM and remaining open until 10 PM.

Local Restaurant Hit With 18 Health Violations

It hasn’t been a great last few weeks for Tucson area restaurants. During their annual food health and safety inspections, a large number of these restaurants were hit with “needs improvement” grades, indicating the restaurants had major violations and needed to have these areas corrected, often in a matter of weeks. However, one particular restaurant stood out as the worst of the bunch, as it was hit with a probation inspection rating due to its 18 violations.

Few southern dishes are as unique as chicken and waffles. At first, it seems like an unusual combination, but when you think about it, pairing something savory, such as the chicken, with something sweet, in this case, the waffle (and its syrup), just seems to work. While there are a handful of destinations around metro Phoenix that do produce the dish, few originate in Atlanta, the city of the dish’s birth. Colorado Mexican Chain Restaurant Has Opened in Town

There’s no denying the love of Mexican food in the Valley. Most of the restaurants around town are independently owned. They are run by families who want to both make a living as well as share their love of food with the community. And yet, for whatever reason, entities from outside states look at Phoenix and deem it the ideal destination to open satellite locations. Despite the sheer volume of authentic Mexican food, these restaurants move in, as if there’s a gold rush on Mexican cuisine in Arizona. This is happening once again, as a restaurant chain from out of state has moved in and set up shop.

Main Street in downtown Mesa has seen considerable change in recent years. One of the most recent apartment and storefront projects on the strip includes The GRID, which will help bring additional rental units to the downtown district, as well as new destinations for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. One restaurant downtown Mesa will be adding is a metro Phoenix favorite, as it has three destinations spread out around the Valley. After Closing All 97 Locations, Restaurant Returning to Town

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of restaurants didn’t attempt to tread water and serve customers via take-out and delivery orders. They simply closed up shop. Some returned after the forced shutdowns were lifted, while others remained closed. It often depended on the kind of restaurant. Buffet-style restaurants were not able to function in their same way during the pandemic, so most of these locations had little to no course of action, other than to fully close. One particular restaurant chain decided to shutter all 97 restaurants around the country, not just for the duration of the pandemic, but for good. This affected a number of locations in Arizona, including right here in Tucson. However, the restaurant, now under new management, has made some changes, and it now plans on returning to Tucson in the coming fall.

Local Restaurant Forced to Close by Landlord after 12 Years

It is hard enough for restaurants to survive these days without added, unnecessary hiccups. After dealing with the forced shutdowns back in 2020 for COVID, it has been one issue after another, ranging from product shortages to workers employment issues, and now inflation is bringing all of that to a head. Tequila Mexican Seafood Restaurant Restaurant Has Opened

Despite the massive footprint of Mexican restaurants throughout the Valley, the vast majority focus predominantly either on street food or on food from the Sonora and Chihuahua states of Mexico. Despite this, there are vast differences in Mexican cuisine. While perhaps not the variable changes as what you might find in the United States, which is mostly due to immigration over the life of the U.S., Mexican cuisine is very much impacted by the regional availability of food, which, naturally, impacts the flavors and the dishes.
