Social media has become an intricate part of daily life. And for better or worse, that likely isn’t going to change any time soon. For businesses, understanding the ins and outs of social media can prove to be a powerful marketing tool. Most establishments around greater Tucson have some kind of social platform, yet the majority of companies leave it at that. However, one new Tucson bar is looking to take its social presence a step further.
The Jackrabbit is a new bar and lounge that opened up at 2000 North Oracle Road several weeks ago. Keith Caywood, the owner of The Jackrabbit, had planned on opening the establishment far sooner, but between COVID and a property fire, plans continued to be delayed until now.
The delays allowed Keith to further evolve his plans for the lounge though. Initially, he had plans to have a more traditional place to hang out and grab drinks, but he eventually decided to transform the space into the ultimate social media posting destination.
The interior of the lounge has everything casual patrons will want, including pool tables and places to kick back and enjoy a few drinks with friends. However, it’s the assortment of neon and LED lights that help transform the area into the perfect photo opportunity.
The hallway from the main lounge takes this a step further. With lighting setups often used by online social influences and several themed backgrounds, The Jackrabbit is any selfie-lovers' dream destination.
No matter the angle or seat, there is a new photographic experience, and in the modern area of people sharing their whereabouts and what they are up to, Keith Caywood and the staff at The Jackrabbit believe it will not only help draw patrons in, but the social tagging through platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and others will help draw even more attention to the bar.
Of course, no matter how photogenic a bar is, without quality drinks and unique cocktails, patrons will likely not return for a second visit once they have taken the photos they wanted. At The Jackrabbit, you’ll be able to find your standard cocktails like negronis and old fashions, but there are also some drinks unique to the bar. One, in particular, is called the Frozen Date Shake. This is made with a combination of house-made ice cream, bourbon, and date syrup.
As for food, you’ll find more than the traditional burgers and wings. There are options like Thai shrimp toast, Korean meatballs, and other Asian-infusion influences. All of which, you better believe, will be perfectly photographable.
