(Queen Creek, AZ) -- Men in and around Pinal County now have an opportunity to gather and spend time with other men, thanks to the Copper Cactus Ranch Men’s Retreat organization. The organization is an all-male, bed and breakfast retreat which caters to men of all races, sexual orientation, who are 21-years old and older.
Our mission is to provide a safe venue to enjoy male bonding and camaraderie in a comfortable and fun environment where our core values of kindness and respect for others are encouraged.
The weekend of July 15-17, men of all ages are invited to join others are the ranch for a Drum Circle event, aimed at allowing men to enjoy positive experiences with other men, forge friendships and build lasting bonds.
Dr. Bobby Cook, Ph.D., co-owner of Copper Cactus Ranch, says the idea is simple. “We want to provide a safe venue for men to enjoy some bonding experiences, whether they’ve faced a divorce, past trauma, illness, whatever, and gather with other men in a comfortable and fun environment.”
Copper Cactus Ranch was established in 2018 as a place to give men a safe outlet to express their feelings, without fearing judgment or being scared to discuss true concerns. Dr. Cook says it really is about letting go, “We want the men who join our group to feel as though they are comfortable enough to share their worries and concerns without also wondering if they are being judged for simply having feelings. Many times men grow up being told to keep quiet and not express if they are sad, upset, or hurt and that can have long-lasting impacts. Our organization is here to help them understand they are not alone.”
The upcoming Drum Circle is held once a month — every third Saturday — and men are invited to stay the full weekend.
