(Florence, AZ) – Good news for residents in Florence looking for a place to cool off this summer. The Florence Aquatic Center has opened its door for a season of water-oriented fun.
The venue offers a mix of classes, swim lessons, and open-swim hours over the summer. The first session of swimming lessons is full. There are spots available for the second session, but the center encourages interested participants to sign up as soon as possible in order to secure spaces.
If you are interested in participating in open swim hours, be sure to check availability. Open swim hours are 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday until July 20. From July 21 to Labor Day, open-swim hours will be on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Parents do take note that you cannot leave your children at the pool unsupervised. Children under the age of 7 must be with a guardian at least 13 years old. Anyone 13 and older may attend the pool alone. Admission to the pool is $2 for kids 17 and younger and $4 for adults. Children under the age of 6 months are free.
There will be some special events held at the pool this summer, including Family Friday nights held every week from June 3 through July 15, from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Dive-in movies will be held once the sun goes down. There will also be a special July 4 event at the pool with open swim, music, and games throughout the day. This will be a free event but will have limited capacity so if you’d like to celebrate at the pool, be sure to come early.
