AURORA, CO - The Virtual Aurora Mini-Con has returned. On the 28th and 29th of August, the Aurora Public Library will host a weekend of virtual activities embracing all things pop culture.

They are going back to the 1980s and 1990s this year, with a dash of time travel tossed in for good measure. Join the event online for performances, discussion panels, crafts, and other activities remembering modern and classic franchises.

To join in the fun, go to Engage Aurora and follow Aurora Public Library on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

Here is some featured programs schedule:

  • Fandom contests, you may show off your favorite fandoms and characters. Cosplay, fan art, flash fan fiction (250 words or less), and sidewalk chalk art are all being accepted at the Aurora Public Library. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. The 27th of August is a Friday.
  • Pick up a free Grab & Go craft kit at the local Aurora Public Library or the Aurora History Museum. Follow along with library staff on social media all weekend to make the craft. Kits are available while supplies last; one kit per person is allowed.

In the event Virtual Exhibit Hall, you can see some of the amazing community partners.

You grant Aurora Public Library permission to post your photo or work on their website and social media, as well as to print it in the community zine, by entering these contests (coming September 2021).

All submissions must be PG-13 to be considered. The Aurora Public Library has the right to refuse to share entries that are not PG-rated.
