A woman in Arkansas felt a call to action and proceeded to buy groceries for her community
They call her the "Kroger Santa."
Ashley Ann Jones explained that after seeing news headlines of people being laid off, hungry, and out of options she decided to spring to action.
“I was like, I’m going to buy groceries,” said Ashley Ann Jones, “Story after story about people getting laid off, or furloughed or just lost their company.”
However Ashley didn't just buy a few groceries for those in need, she bought $28,000 worth of groceries to help nearly everybody in her community that was struggling.
Jones explained that she wanted to do right by her community and that you can only do what you can "here and there," however, she clearly went above and beyond to help those in need and did more than many of us could ever do. To her, "here and there" is something that so many of us only hope we could do to help others.
We're so thankful for our Kroger Santa, Ashley Ann Jones, and can only hope that more people feel called to action as she did. Ashley hopes that her act of kindness will inspire more people to do what they can. She has also explained that she hopes to do more for those in need in the future.
