One killed in Friday morning collision along California’s Pacheco Pass
A tragic incident on State Route 152 outside of Gilroy near Lake Road resulted in a fatality, prompting lane closures and emergency response efforts on January 12, 2024, at approximately 7:05 AM.
The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal collision involving multiple vehicles, with one overturned gray Honda CR-V located approximately 10 feet off the roadway. The details of the collision remain under investigation, and the circumstances leading to the crash are yet to be determined.
Several calls were made to the CHP reporting the incident, indicating the severity of the situation.
Emergency responders, including fire and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, one person succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office was alerted and responded to the scene.
As a result of the crash, the eastbound lanes of SR-152 experienced blockages, prompting the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to issue a SigAlert.

Cartels Lose $510M in Drugs to US Coast Guard
