'Person of interest' posed as roofer, tricked way into home & stole belongings, police say

The Pomona Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying an individual involved in a home intrusion incident that took place in the 1300 block of Scoville Ave.

The person of interest, who posed as a roofer, managed to trick their way into the residence and stole belongings while the homeowner was left waiting outside, unaware of the deceit, police said.

The incident occurred when the individual, pictured in a photo released by the Pomona Police Department, exploited the homeowner's trust by pretending to be a legitimate roofing professional.

Seizing the opportunity, the imposter gained access to the home and made off with valuables, leaving the unsuspecting homeowner outside, police added.

The Pomona Police Department has released an image of the suspect and is urging the community to come forward with any information that may lead to their identification.
