A brazen theft attempt at an Orange County Marshalls Department Store on Alton Parkway was stopped thanks to vigilant witnesses and the quick action of the Irvine Police Department last Saturday.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., concerned citizens reported a theft in progress, leading law enforcement to the scene.

Eyewitnesses quickly captured video evidence of an organized retail theft by a group of five female individuals, some of whom were seen wearing surgical masks.

The group boldly entered the store and swiftly began to fill large trash bags with boxed underwear and coats, accumulating merchandise valued at more than $1,800.00.

The theft was interrupted when an Irvine Police officer located the suspects' getaway vehicle—a red minivan—as it attempted to flee the vicinity.

The officer promptly pulled the van over, leading to the apprehension of all five suspects.

The suspects have been identified as Kanani Fay Mary Fortson, 21, of Los Angeles; Damya Morton, 20, of Los Angeles; Zanya Monique Seabrooks, 21, of Los Angeles; Erikyah Keora Seabrooks, 20, of Los Angeles, and a 17-year-old juvenile, also from Los Angeles.

Authorities have levied a range of charges against the suspects, including burglary, organized retail theft, conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
