The Seattle Great Wheel on a sunny day is an absolute dream. While I know this is not necessarily the norm, I am thankful that I serendipitously came here on a day with beautiful weather. My ride on the wheel provided clear views in every direction as far as my eyes could see!
We purchased tickets and essentially walked right onto the wheel (it was about 5 pm on a Friday). This ride gives you two full times around, not including the rotation where they load the wheel. The folks working the wheel were friendly, thorough, and quick. The cabins completely close, but are clear on the sides--so you can have spectacular views in every direction. Tickets are $14 for adults, which I think is fair for the experience! Definitely worth trying it at least once!
