Is there anything more precious than loved ones reuniting on the holidays?

Though to some people animals may just be that—animals—to others, pets are considered family. They're just as important as any other member of the household. This is a sentiment shared by 96% of pet owners.

And as this is the case, it is incredibly upsetting when a pet is missing, whether it gets lost or there is distance between them. This can be any pet owner's nightmare, and all they hope for is to be reunited with their precious pet.

These realities were highlighted in a recent online post in which a dog was reunited with his favorite human on Thanksgiving Day, delighting the internet.

Is there anything more precious than loved ones reuniting on the holidays?

A TikTok video published on November 24th, reported on by Lucy Notarantonio from Newsweek, has gone viral with over 4 million views and 1.3 million likes.

The heartwarming video, which has gone incredibly viral this Thanksgiving season, begins with the caption, 'Doggo is so happy to have his human home'.

It is explained further in the comments that the Aussie’s favorite person is a college student who returned home for the holiday season.

In the video, the dog's favorite human is sitting at the table with a massive feast in front of him, but the dog couldn't care less about the food. The pup, a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd, instead is sitting in the college student's lap and cuddling up with him.

Are holidays meant for pets too?

As if the prospect of the dog cuddling its human wasn't cute enough, the dog actually has its paws wrapped around its human's neck, bringing them even closer into a warm embrace. The precious pooch has a massive smile on its face, clearly pleased with himself.

Dogs are incredibly emotional creatures, and science has shown that they do miss their owners and favorite people when they're not around. They experience legitimate joy when they see the person they love most in the world.
