SAINT LOUIS, MO — The Saint Louis University (SLU) is holding a commencement celebration for 2020 graduates.
Their ceremony was halted last year because of the pandemic. But the University decided to hold it this year instead due to a survey response from the graduates themselves.
The event will be held on August 6 - 8, 2021. To participate, graduates must first register themselves. A Livestream link will be available for those unable to attend.
The event is exclusively for 2020 graduates. They welcome all graduates including August and December 2020 graduates. The University will ask for a Banner ID to avoid ineligible guests. Graduates are welcome to bring four guests to the ceremony with an RSVP required. Graduates could also order caps and gowns in all SLU’s bookstores.
The event will begin on August 6 at 5 p.m. with Billiken Night at the Ballpark pre-game party. Then a Cardinals game at 7 p.m.
The main event will be held on August 7. The commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. that day. Then, there will be an “Honor the Day” Concert at 6 p.m. with a nationally acclaimed performer.
A diploma cover is given during the ceremony. Those unable to attend may email firstname.lastname@example.org to get the cover.
The next day begins at 10 a.m. August 8 morning. Graduates will have brunch at the Bannister House. Then, a Baccalaureate Mass will close the whole event at 1 p.m.
Photographers will take the graduates’ moments at the event. The photos are available for purchase after the event.
