(ATLANTA, Ga.) Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens debuted a new program for young men in the city on Wednesday evening

The Midnight Basketball League is a pilot program in collaboration with Dickens, Atlanta Parks and Rec and the Atlanta Police Department.

It aims to create a positive impact on young men ages 18-24 by opening recreation centers at night to allow them to play basketball with their friends and stay off the streets.

In addition to sports, Dickens and the partnering agencies are providing resources like job opportunities, G.E.D. preparation and record expungement.

The program debuted at the C.T. Martin Natatorium and Recreation Center located on 3201 M.L.K. Jr Dr SW.
