Atlanta mayoral election
Election Day is today. Metro Atlanta residents are heading to polls to vote for the city's 61st mayor. Candidates on the ballot are Felicia Moore and Andre Dickens. In addition to the city of Atlanta, surrounding cities will be having mayoral runoff elections.

Tyler Perry shares thoughts on land expansion
The Community Engagement Subcommittee of the Fort McPherson LRA Board held a meeting on Monday to discuss future developments of Fort McPherson. Multi-hyphenate Tyler Perry shared his thoughts and vision for the additional 37 acres of land. Fort McPherson requires developers to present any proposal for redevelopment to the community before consideration for approval by the board.
Cobb County precinct opening rescheduled
A new police precinct in Cobb County has rescheduled its groundbreaking. The precinct will be located in Marietta's District 3 area and is part of the 2016 SPLOST project.
New app for emergency alerts in Cobb County
Cobb County's new emergency alert system will send out weather alerts in real-time. The county has implemented Swift911™ from SwiftReach Networks, Inc. as its Emergency Notification service. The platform will issue phone calls to specific people or areas in the event of an emergency or for sharing important information.
