New renovations at Barack and Michelle Obama Academy
The newest academy in Peoplestown has undergone millions of dollars worth of renovations for students and staff. the Barack and Michaelle Obama Academy (BMOA) celebrated updates like:
- 80,000 square feet of additions and reconstructions, including to the gymnasium.
- Renovation of all classrooms, administrative areas and the auditorium.
- All new furniture fixtures and equipment.
Holiday hours for DeKalb Public Library
All DeKalb County Public Library branches will close today at 5:00 p.m. and will remain closed through Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Doraville Library branch will be closed Thursday, November 25-Sunday November 28 and will reopen on Monday, November 29.
Early voting ends soon in Cobb county
Today is the last day to early vote in the Marietta Ward 5 city council election. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. instead of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Incumbent Marietta Councilman Reginald Copeland will face off with M. Carlyle Kent. The standard election will be held on November 30.
Mini camp in DeKalb County ends today
Today is the last day of DeKalb County's Park and Recreation and Cultural Affairs mini-camp for the duration of fall break. The camp is held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of the camp is $10 a day for children ages 5-12.
