Cobb County's Opioid Settlement
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted to accept funds from the settlement reached with pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson, AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health, and McKesson about their alleged role in the national opioid crisis.
Community outreach in DeKalb County
DeKalb County Police Department continues its community outreach events for the month of November. Major Robertson and the South Precinct are hosting events this evening and Tuesday evening. Events are virtual and information to attend is listed below.
Cookie cheer for families in need
The Ward Recreation Center will be collecting items for families in need this holiday season. Items to be collected will be sugar cookie mix, cookie cutters, frosting and cookie decorations. The goal is to provide supplies to 50 families in the area. Donations will be collected until Dec. 17.
Donate in Buckhead for the holidays
The city of Buckhead is collecting nonperishable food items for the Collins Food Pantry. This community service initiative is in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Items will be collected until Monday, Nov. 29.
Mini camp in DeKalb County for fall break
DeKalb County's Park and Recreation and Cultural Affairs is offering a mini camp for the duration of fall break. The camp will be held from Nov. 22-24 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of the camp is $10 a day for children ages 5-12.
