More rental assistance

Cobb County's Board of Commissioners has approved additional rent assistance initiatives. Currently, the board has authorized another $7.2 million to the current Emergency Rental Assistance Program for those who are affected, directly or indirectly, by COVID-19. The program is for assistance for renters only

Fulton County increases pay

Fulton County Schools announced the increase of starting salaries for faculty and staff members. The school district updated its job board and is accepting applications for custodians, paraprofessionals, clinic assistants and more. All positions will have the new starting pay in addition to countywide benefits like major holidays off and exclusive employee discounts.

Meals for Thanksgiving

In lieu of the holiday season, the Atlanta Community Food Bank is accepting donations for Thanksgiving. The organization is encouraging individuals to give to families who are facing hunger and in need. Donations are being accepted on an ongoing basis.

Goodbye, clutter

Why wait until spring to start cleaning? This Sunday, the Keep Cobb Beautiful organization is hosting a community recycling event. Individuals can attend and shred old documents that have been piling up as well as donate electronics, metals, textile and other household goods that are no longer being used. 

Upcoming college fair

The Marietta Chapter of Girls Inc. is hosting a free college fair event this Saturday. The event will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Therrell High School and is open to all girls from 6th to 12th grade. Six different colleges and universities will have representatives at the fair and there will be workshops centered around financial aid, admissions, scholarships, college life, and public speaking.
